Safran Static Analysis

In 2015 FIRMA were invited to provide updated static calculations for the thrust reverser of the Embraer 450 business jet. This was a challenging piece of analysis involving a combination of mechanical and thermal loads acting on metallic and composite components in this critical aspect of the aircraft.

FIRMA was part of a team that was charged with the task of adapting the technical documentation using a legacy PATRAN FEM with updated load cases to interrogate the suitability of an existing engine design on an alternate aircraft justifying minimal change and hence cost in the programme.
