Stewart Feather – Technical Director

On graduation with a BEng in Engineering Technology Degree from Robert Gordons Institute of Technology in Aberdeen in 1988, Stewart spent 8 years at BAE Systems progressing to Senior Stress Engineer before pursuing a varied work profile as an Engineering Consultant in 1996.

Since then, he has worked internationally for some of the world’s leading aerospace companies including de-Havilland, GKN Westland and AGUSTA & Hyde Group Engineering, trusted with some of the most prestigious aerospace equipment a mechanical engineer could wish to be involved with, carrying out detailed Static and Fatigue Analysis.

Stewart has developed a remarkable instinct for designing structures from grass roots level up, to ensure the optimum structure is always arrived at.

Between 2004 & 2008, Stewart acted as the Static Stress Lead for the’ X-35 JSF Horizontal Tail’. During this time, he gained a reputation in the aerospace industry for his meticulousness attention to detail and relentless drive to adhere to project timescales.

The above qualities have seen Stewart entrusted in the role of Technical Director at FIRMA Engineering as a co-founding partner.
